Making Honey Oat Bars

We made honey oat bars. They don’t have any wrappers on the bars and we wanted to keep the school clean.

We made honey oat bars. We wanted to have a rubbish free school. Making your own bars is healthy. Learning to cook is fun.

The Big Clean Up!

This week is Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week. We went for a walk along the Waimea Estuary and we picked up heaps of rubbish in big plastic bags. We walked with our buddy class Kereru but the whole school did the big clean up. We were really tired when we got back to school. We think it is important to look after this beautiful world we live in.

Student Led Conferences

It was really good to see so many students confidently leading their conference and being able to share their learning with their parents.

Recycled Art

Tui class made some crosses that Brooke’s mum designed and helped us to make.
We could choose to make crosses or stars.
Mrs Ashley asked if some people could bring some materials from home. There was lace, ribbon, wool, velvet, string, thread, feathers, nails, paint, MDF board and buttons.
Then we drew a design for our cross or star. We painted a white undercoat on the MDF wood. Brooke’s mum hammered the nails in after school.
The next morning we came back to paint our backgrounds in the colours we wanted.
Then we put wool around the nails.
We put glitter-glue over the paint. Then we put trimmings around the edge of the MDF wood.
